Admission at Baha'i School

1. General School Admission Guidelines

Admission Entry Classes: New admissions are officially granted for Nursery to Class IX, and then from Class XI onwards. Direct admissions are generally not entertained for Classes X and XII, subject to strict CBSE transfer norms and board registration deadlines.

Entry Level Age: For the primary block, admissions commence from Nursery. To be eligible, a child must have completed 3 years of age at the beginning of the academic session in February.

Application Process: The admission form must be completed in full detail and submitted along with all required statutory documents before an application can be officially considered.

Fee Policy: Once admission is officially confirmed, no fees will be refunded under any circumstances.

Transfer Documentation & EMMIS Mandate: No student can be officially registered without the submission of a valid Transfer Certificate (TC) / School Leaving Certificate:

Within the State of Sikkim: For students transitioning from schools within Sikkim, the Transfer Certificate must be generated directly from the official EMMIS website of the State Education Department.

Outside Sikkim / International: For students coming from outside the state or country, a physical school leaving certificate must be submitted.

2. Admission to Class XI (Senior Secondary Science Stream)

In accordance with the school's structural guidelines, admission to Class XI is strictly selective:

Course Structure: The Senior School Certificate Course offered here is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. It is a two-year Post-Secondary School Course recognized by all Indian Universities as equivalent to the Intermediate College Examination, qualifying candidates to begin three-year degree courses.

Selection Process: Admission to the Science Stream is highly selective under the regulatory education framework. Students completing Class X must formally apply for admission when applications open and appear for a mandatory Aptitude Test. Prior studies at this high school do not automatically guarantee admission to the Senior Secondary (Plus Two) course.

Core Eligibility Criteria: Apart from the minimum qualifications prescribed by the CBSE Board, the school applies its own strict internal norms for admission, which depend upon:

Academic Performance: Excellent academic performance in the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE), Sent-Up Examination, Pre-Board Examination, and consistent performance throughout Class IX.

Application & Attendance: Regularity in attendance and consistent work during Classes IX and X. Accommodation is reserved for students who demonstrate both high mental capability and a serious, sustained application to their studies.

Character & Conduct: The candidate’s character and conduct during their previous years at Baha'i School must show clear evidence of benefiting from the character formation offered by the institution. Mere academic performance will not make a student eligible for admission to Class XI.

   3. For Parents & Guardians

We believe that a strong partnership between the school and home is essential for every child’s success. To ensure a smooth, disciplined, and productive academic year, we request your cooperation in adhering to the following guidelines:

  • Parent-Teacher Meetings (Open Days): We highly recommend attending all scheduled Open Days. These meetings are the best way to stay closely informed about your child's academic achievements, personal progress, and behavioral growth.

  • Reviewing Terminal Reports: Please review report cards carefully. We encourage you to work collaboratively with your child to inspire extra effort and focused study in subjects where they may need additional support.

  • Fee Clearances: Ensure all terminal fee dues and outstanding balances are cleared in full prior to the commencement of any school examinations.

  • Uniform & Punctuality: Students should arrive on campus dressed smartly, neatly, and in the complete correct school uniform. Punctuality is strictly monitored; please ensure your child reaches school well on time, as habitual latecomers may face disciplinary action.

  • Campus Visit Restrictions: To maintain an uninterrupted learning environment, parents and guardians are not permitted to go directly to classrooms or interview teachers during active school hours. In urgent circumstances, prior permission must be obtained directly from the Principal's office.

  • Update Contact Information: For your child's safety, please notify the school administration immediately (within one week) of any changes to your home address or telephone number so we can maintain uninterrupted emergency communication.
