Measuring Success

Evaluation & Grading System

In alignment with the latest directives of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Education Policy (NEP), Bahá'í School, Tadong follows a continuous, comprehensive, and competency-focused assessment model.

Our evaluation methodology moves away from rote learning and high-stakes testing, focusing instead on mapping a student's true academic growth consistently throughout the academic year.

1. Statutory Criteria for Promotion

To ensure academic accountability and compliance with board bylaws, promotion to the next class is governed by two strict parameters:

Minimum Passing Threshold: A student must secure a minimum of 33% marks in both the theory examination and the practical/internal assessment components independently.

Mandatory Attendance Norms: In strict accordance with CBSE bylaws, a minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory for a student to be eligible to appear for the final examinations.

2. Structure of Internal Assessments (20-Mark Component)

For major scholastic subjects, the standard 100-mark evaluation is split into an 80-mark Year-End/Board Examination and a 20-mark Internal Assessment. Everyday class participation and consistency carry immense weight, broken down as follows:

Subject Enrichment5 MarksPractical lab work, hands-on projects, map work, and speaking/listening skill (ASL) assessments.

As per the latest CBSE assessment patterns, question structures have been heavily reformed to promote higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Our assessments are designed to test real-world application rather than simple memorization, featuring:

3. Shift Towards Competency-Based Learning

Competency-Focused Questions: Question papers incorporate Case-Based Questions, Source-Integrated Tasks, and Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) that require analytical thinking.

Holistic Report Cards: Equal emphasis is given to co-scholastic domains, including Health & Physical Education, Art Education, and Moral & Life Skills development, ensuring a well-rounded evaluation of your child's progress.
